July 6, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– The Luo community of Western Bahr el Gazal in Canada is horrified by the recent indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians in Wau town.
According to Cyrill Joseph Garang, who spoke from Ontario, Canada, the Luo Community strongly the massacres of civilians by an army that is supposed to protect them
“We condemned in the strongest terms possible, the unprovoked killing of innocent men, women and children in the hand of SPLA Division five Major General Thayip Gatluak” Cyrill Joseph Garang said.
The Luo community in Diaspora has learned that the massacre started on Thursday targeting non Dinka civilians with the focus on the Fertits in Wau town and the surrounding areas, killing about 4000 innocent civilians.
“The militias of the SPLA Chief of General Staff, General Paul Malong Awan are responsible for the massacred; they looted and burned down homes of the Fertits” Garang said.
The aggrevied Luo Community of South Sudan calls on the United Nations, Human Right Watch and Amnesty International to immediately investigator the massacre of minorities and publish the results.
“We the Luo community of Western Bahr el Gazal, we call upon the International Community, the Human Right Watch, the Amnesty International and all other human rights organizations to investigate what took place in Wau and to hold accountable all those involved in the brutal massacre.” Luo Community said.
The community holds president Salva Kiir, his Chief of Staff and Divisional Commander in Wau accountable for the killing of civilians.
“President Salva Kiir, General Paul Malong and Division Five Commander Major General Gatluak, all must be held accountable under the International Law. We also call on UNMISS to rise to the scale of the challenge so as to prevent lives in Western Bahr el Gazal and in Wau in particular”The community press release states.
“We the sons and daughters of the Luo community of Western Bahr el Gazal in the Diaspora extend our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims. Also we the Luo community stand together with the Fertits community in the face of injustice and divide and rule policy.” They said.
According to leaked document, President fired a governor he appointed a few months earlier and ordered for his arrest and disarmement of his bodyguards which sparked violence.

It is high time for the Luo community of Western Bahr el Gazaal to liberate from the Dinkas or there is a price to pay – Luo politicians, wake up now. Governor Mayar Acho, you have a difficult job to do. I know, you are a strong man and I know that you are a leader that cannot be used as puppet if you want to – Unless you changed with the time.
