6th June, 2021 — We, at the Liech community Association in Kenya, received the news of the demise of Lt Gen. Jock Gatwech with profound sorrow. He passed away in Khartoum on 5th June, 2021. Late General Jock Gatwech was a selfless guerilla leader.Â
On behalf of the Liech community Association in Kenya, I convey my heartfelt condolences to the family of General Jock as they mourn the loss of this iconic leader who dedicated his entire life to our struggles for freedom. The passing away of General Jock is a national loss.Â
The Liech community and the people of the Republic of South Sudan acknowledge and appreciate the immeasurable and lasting legacy of General Jock Gatwech toward our country’s political independence.
