How The United States, TROIKA and JMEC Abandoned and Betrayed The People of South Sudan

July 25, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– Throughout the history of South Sudan, the United States of America and her allies, dubbed as TROIKA and the regional bloc-IGAD have been seen as the engine of South Sudan, however, the latest turn of events has portrayed the darkest side of the superpowers.

For the last 15 years the United States, United Kingdoms and Norway have been seen at the forefront trying to rescue the people of South Sudan from their then common enemy, Arabs, who wanted to enslave them and also tried to rescue the  South Sudanese citizens from their very own liberators who have no clue of how to govern a country.  It is surprising, however, that the United States and her allies are only interested in resettling South Sudanese as refugees to help build their large economies than helping them stabilize their own country. This cold war on the people of South Sudan and other African nations has been nakedly portrayed in the current South Sudan civil.

Leading to the conflict, United States started investing heavily in training and equipping the South Sudanese army, an army that was never loyal to the country but to individual warlords-turned-politicians. Despite that US saw how its good investment was going to be used in the next series of genocides in the young nation that it had painfully midwived her independence, the Obama Administration never slowed down and does not regret its dirty meddling in South Sudanese affairs. Instead the TROIKA pushed throughout the conflict blaming both sides without clear objectives on how the war could be effectively ended and return the country on its rightful path that its broke away from its neighboring Sudan for.

The peace brokers never gotten to the root causes of the conflict perhaps because they assumed they know what instigated the conflicts but the resolution they later proposed was too weak to address the fundamental issues.

At the onset, America and her allies were just good-will partners for a samaritan-cause to save lives and restore stability in the young nation, however, as time elapses it became apparently clear that the TROIKA successfully managed to control the minds of South Sudan leaders through their sweet talks, empty threats and financial aid. Worst to mention, their empty threats are only inciting wars with little hopes that they will ever achieve the desired goal – stabilizing South Sudan and the region.

A good example is the latest conspiracy in Juba that still threatens the life of the First Vice President, Dr. Riek  Machar Teny, and tries to replace him. Unlike Kiir, Machar has been the main principle as the United States, United Nations, JMEC and IGAD pushed so hard to return him to Juba against his will. Although Machar made himself clear in October 2015 while visiting Washington that Juba would be his “death bed”, many American politicians including Susan Rice, John Kerry and the entire Foreign Policy docket failed so offended by Dr. Machar’s plea for his safety.

For almost two weeks, the United States and her partners have gone into hibernation when they well know that they imposed a peace agreement that was meant to be implemented by the people of South Sudan. While President Salva Kiir has now scrapped the peace agreement and continues to haunt his First Vice President, who has been forced out of Juba, neither the bold Susan Rice nor the foreign diplomats like Donald Booth, leave alone the loud Obama, are yet to resurface.

Notwithstanding that the young nation is now at the verge of a full-scale civil war and a possible genocide, the United States and the United Nations are yet to endorse a regional troops that is expected to be deployed in the war-torn nation to prevent either further escalations of the conflict or separate the two rival forces once they resume fighting.

The conspiracy to kill Machar and of course the Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan (ARCISS) is not only done by Kiir’s regime, The Jieng(Dinka) Council of Elders, disgruntled SPLM/SPLA(IO) group led by Taban Deng Gai, Joint Monitoring and Evaluation(JMEC), Ugandan’s President Yoweri Museveni, but also by Donald Booth, Susan Rice, John Kerry and many of Obama’s administration.

Evidenced by their immerse pressure that forced Machar to return to un-demilitarized Juba with only 40% of the agreed 2910 soldiers, a conspiracy that was championed by a disgruntled Chief Negotiator, the main purpose of the Obama’s trio (Rice, Kerry and Booth) was an attempt to get rid of Machar because Dr. Machar is an educated strong Pan-Africanist who cannot be used as a puppet compared to the current president, Mr. Salva Kiir Mayardit. Machar is a big stumbling block, not only to western superpowers but also to many desperate dictators in the region.

This makes Machar, like his former colleague Dr. John Garang de Mabior, a soft target of western policies and dictatorial tendencies in and outside the country. Machar has enough ideologies to drive his nation to self-reliance among world class nations without enriching many of the western allies at the expense of the South Sudanese people.

Like many Africans leaders, the incumbent president, Mr. Salva Kiir Mayardit is a shortsighted tribalist who lacks ideas other than anything that would protect his seat and his interest group who scratch his back. The two vulnerabilities (tribalism and incompetence) are the biggest assets that the west is capitalizing in Africa. Kiir has become a subject that is being manipulated and he admitted this in two events saying that he is being “treated like a school-boy” or “being ordered like a child by anyone” but given that he has very limited options, he has to do what the masters want him to do. This is how he signed the peace agreement – because he was told to do so.

Dr. Machar has been a tough nut to crack within and outside the country. He refused to sign agreements that he believes are “blank cheques” when the regional leaders tried to use shortcuts to get him sign a peace document, however, Machar fell into another trap from his cheap Chief negotiator, Gen. Taban Deng Gai. As portrayed in Juba this month, Taban underscored the position of SPLM/SPLA, a position that the West and partners exploited while drafting the peace document that Machar and Kiir later signed.

At the look of events, and as advocated by two senior US diplomats, Princeton Lyman & Kate Almquist Knopf, the TROIKA wants South Sudan to go back to a full-scale war such that they can optimize the aftermath to justify why South Sudan should be placed under the “UN Trusteeship”

As Obama’s administration terms come to an end, most of these old diplomats would be unemployed unless countries like South Sudan are placed under UN Trusteeship or otherwise remain in bloody conflicts at the expense of the poor South Sudanese-African. The people of South Sudan, however, have made it categorically clear that unless US invite NATO, they will never allow UN Trusteeship to happen. This country was hard-earned and the people will continue to fight to restore permanent Peace, good Governance,  democracy, service delivery and development.

To restore trust and good bilateral relations with the people of South Sudan, TROIKA, JMEC and IGAD-Plus nations should endorse, empower and fully support a temporary deterrent force that will only supervise a full implementation of the Agreement on Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan(ARCISS) up to the end o the agreed period. In addition, the brokers must fund and support the new Transitional Government of National Unity, otherwise, JMEC and all its structures should start pulling out of South Sudan because they failed their mandates.

The good thing what’s happening is if Jieng control Juba media like Aljezeera and SSBC TV, and we have to control the Internet media, so they cannot be lies because we sizes.

Late Dr. Riek Machar used TROIKA and UN to get him forcefully to the presidency of South Sudan. But because Jieng people are so powerful, they refused to let them do that in the country they solely liberated and consequently KILLED DR. RIEK MACHAR on July 14, 2016. Rest in Hell Riek Machar Teny!!!
