Aug 17, 2021 — This document is meant to narrate and thoroughly inform the general public, especially the diehard supporters of the people’s movement [SPLM/A-IO] on the reasons which prompted the military leadership of the SPLM/A (IO) to denounce and dismiss the former opposition leader, Dr Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon, from the Chairmanship of the SPLM/A(IO).
Moreover, it’s clear that some people, not all, might have witnessed quarrelsome, insistence and disturbance insecurity within the SPLM/A (IO).
So in this regards, the leadership under the interim Chairman and Commander in Chief (C-in-C) General Simon Gatwech Dual has honored the comrades wherever they are to at least salute the heroes, especially those whose lives perished and those sustained wounds and injuries at (Kitgwang) merciless attack on the 7th/ 8/2021.
Therefore, the attack was emotionally planned and aimed to targets and eliminates the national liberators but in general view, the architect of senseless war from the forces loyal to the former Chairman Dr Riek Machar, is publicly condemned and looks more mediocre and a naive leadership because in the public view, there is no good reason for him to fight back and kills his own people who have been protecting him all along, in various deadly battles.
Those fighters whose lives perished in these merciless attacks, had previously saved his life at (J1-Dogs Fight) and also continued to save him all along to “DR-CONGO ” as well as other fronts.
◇ The reasons led to dismissal of the main former opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon are here enumerated below.
1. The former leader of the SPLM/A (IO) Dr Riek Machar, had never conducted a meeting with his military command’s leadership since 2017, and he was stranded in South Africa for two years while the military leadership under the former chief of General Staff, who is currently the interim Chairman and Commander in Chief (C-in-C) General Simon Gatwech Dual, had tirelessly worked hard in his absence, and those politicians whom you can see today are enjoying the R-TGONU in Juba, were the ones to topple him early before. As a result, he was pushed by the same politicians to Juba without proper management and locked himself out from the movement, he was then disconnected from communication with the Military Command’s Leadership and the grassroot levels, undoubtedly making a tactical surrender to the regime.
2. After taking oath as the first Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan, he was immediately apportioned all positions on relational and congenial basis without identifying meritocracy and capabilities. Therefore, during the selection, he had never consulted anyone rather than his wife Madam Angelina Teny, to direct him who is coming as a minister, MP, and who is not coming to serve based on hatred and jealousy.
To make the matter worst, all strategic positions were fall to the relatives and close friends aiming for the paybacks and all Political Bureau (PB) and National Liberation Council (NLC) members, were not even consulted. This has also contributed to the demise of the former rebel leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon.
3. The former leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon, has tactically abandoned and compromised the R.ACSS, particularly the Chapter two, three, four and five of the agreement.
4. Dr Riek Machar Teny, has for sure, cut-off communication with the entire leadership in the SPLM/A(IO) liberated areas and that was the reason which led the military leadership sent (3) consecutive letters requested him to visit the SPLA (IO) GHQs to convene a meeting that could at least satisfied the military leadership and the grassroot levels as well, about how good was the agreement in Juba but the sycophants around him blindfolded him to deaf ears the calls, which eventually led to the crisis within the movement.

5. The attack was imposed on us by the forces loyal to the former Chairman Dr Riek Machar, after they had taken a full order to scale a deadly attack purposely to either kill or capture the lives of all three Generals plus army Spokesperson.
Moreover, the attack itself was aimed and planned as a deterrence in the area and might have left the civilian population lives in fear. Now the civil population in the area have known that the sporadic bombardments which killed their children at (Kit-Gwang) , on 7th/ 8/2021, at 6:30 Am, was an imposed war against the new leadership by the former one.
6. Dr Riek Machar, had attempted to Assassinate the former Chief of Staff, Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual, Sector one Commander Gen Johnson Olony Thubo, and Sector three (3) Commander Gen.Thomas Mabor Dhol, by secretly sending weapons, ammunition, and the Military Vehicle. and the plan was coordinated and engineered by the former director of the Military intelligence Maj.Gen Dhiling Keak Chuol, and Brig.Gen Simon Bangoang Tuong, then the equipment were secretly snaked into Tiger battalion under the command of Brig-Gen Malual Biel Dak and Col. John Mut Tap, in the far base called “Amot” located to Northern Upper Nile without the knowledge of the former Chief of Staff
7. To make the matter worst, he relieved the former Chief of General Staff of the SPLA(IO) Gen Simon Gatwech Dual, Gen Johnson Olony Thubo Dak, Sector (1) Commander, Gen.Thomas Mabor Dhol, simply because they didn’t responded to the calls which demanded them to go to Juba before the security arrangements, graduation of the unified forces, should take place. Dr Riek Machar, has ordered the newly appointed Commander Gen. James Yak Dayiem to attack (Kit.Gwang) Magenis, on 7th/8/2021. Then later resulted in the loss of humans and the heavy military equipment.
Demands.
â– The SPLM/A(IO) under the leadership of H.E Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual, called upon the IGAD, AU, Troika and the peace guarantors to help in finding solutions to end the conflict in South Sudan between SPLM/A(IO) and SPLM-(IG) to implement the peace agreement as the partners.
■The SPLM/A (IO) also calls upon the citizens of the South Sudan government to work for peace and reconciliation in South Sudan.
â– The SPLM/A (IO) is urging the government of South Sudan R-TGONU to implement the security arrangements and graduate the unified forces to ensure the return of refugees and IDPS to the country.
â– Collection of the illegal weapons to ensure the protection of the civilians in South Sudan.
■The SPLM/A(IO) under the Leadership of H.E Gen Simon Gatwech Dual, urges the SPLM/A in government to implement the resolution report of TBC and IBC on the implementation of 1956 Boundary to ensure the achievement of everlasting peace in south Sudan.
â– The SPLM/A (IO) under the leadership of Gen Simon Gatwech Dual, is requesting the forces loyal to Dr Riek Machar to be disengaged and live in a reasonable distance in order to safeguard against any further violence.
Summary
The SPLM/A (IO) under the command of the interim Chairman and Commander in Chief (C-in-C) General Simon Gatwech Dual, is committed to peace and ready to meet all parties to the agreement to help in finding a solution to implement the agreement in words and spirit.
