Dec 08, 2016(Nyamilepedia) ——— The Friends of Sudan/ South Sudan (FSSS) are writing to you regarding your recent remarks in the Bundesrat about the current political crisis in South Sudan which was published on Sudan Tribune online Newspaper on Nov 14^th, 2016.

FSSS rational is to prepare South Sudan, to understand and adopt the democratic processes and practices that would help it ensure future peaceful transference of power from successive governments.

The FSSS sincerely appreciate your remarks in the Bundesrat session and Die Linke party support to the voiceless people of South Sudan who continue to suffer under Kiir’s and his associate hands and your Party efforts will not go unnoticed.

In response to your remarks, the FSSS would like to suggest that it would be better for Germany international organizations to rechanneling Germany humanitarian assistance to refugees and Internal displace persons (IDPs) in board of South Sudan with Congo, Uganda, and Central Africa.

Germany NGOs can play important role in saving lives in the board areas. Furthermore, the role of the United Mission in South Sudan must be strengthening with clear mandates to arrest, fight back, and detain SPLA criminal soldiers and bush generals who are carrying out targeted killings of civilians in Equatoria and other part of South Sudan as well as raped and killed 13 years old girl near the UN base in Wau (Radio Tamazuj). https://radiotamazuj.org/en/article/official-slain-rape-victim-wau-only-13

To make a difference in South Sudan your continued political support in the Bundesrat is very essential to effect change in the country. The FSSS and South Sudanese diaspora in Germany would be happy to assist you and your party with policy advice for your country to adopt and implement. The FSSS have taken the liberty of sharing your comments with the members of South Sudanese born-Germans in Deutschland and requested them to get in touch with your office to exchange note with Die Linke Party on the current humanitarian, security situations and targeted killings of civilians in Equatoria States.

The FSSS requests your assistance in ensuring:

1. Support United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution that imposes an arms embargo on South Sudan;
2. Place travel restrictions and freeze the assets of certain persons deemed responsible for the grisly violence convulsing the new nation;

• Place travel restrictions and freeze the assets of corrupt public officials who packaged public funds from 2005-2016 (Please, refer to attached list of corrupt public officials involved in corruption);

1. Support the various European institutions that can investigate and seize assets by South Sudan’s leaders and bush generals. If any assets are recovered they should be place in trust that can be used to support humanitarian assistance, economic development projects, and survivors of gender based violence and recovery efforts;

1. Support deployment of the UN peacekeeping forces in South Sudan and especially in Equatoria States;
2. Support deployment of human rights observers in Equatoria states to monitor human rights violations and refer cases to International Criminal Court for further investigations of crimes against humanity;

• Urgent new aid that is appropriated for refugees in Uganda, Congo, and Kenya and Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs) and;
• Building capacities assistance in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and leadership to support South Sudan diaspora-led organizations in Europe especially in Germany.
