August 7, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – Former military chief of general staff of the National Democratic Movement (NDM), General Nicodemus Deng Deng, who was removed from his position by Dr. Lam Akol, the NDM chairman and commander, this week has declared a new faction.
Akol dismissed Deng Deng last week without giving reasons behind the removal.
In a statement, General Deng Deng said his group would be known as National Democratic Movement For Peace (NDM/FP) and would be active immediately as of August 6, 2020.
It is not clear what effect the decision by Deng would have on the group which is a member of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA).
