Feb 06, 2017(Nyamilepedia) ——- We, the members of Chollo Caucus in Sudan People Movement in Opposition condemned in strongest terms the Egyptian-South Sudan Airstrikes on the Camps of Internally Displaced People (IDP) in Wau-Shilluk, Upper Nile State in South Sudan.
This joint airstrikes of Egyptian and Southern Sudanese government have left hundreds of Civilians dead and burned down to ashes the IDP camps. As we speak, South Sudan soldiers on ground are pursuing the survived civilians in bushes of their hidings and killing whoever they find alive. Among the survivors are mothers, young girls and boys, blinds, deaf, chief, elders and babies who are now cut off from health care, water, food and shelter.

What motivated Egyptian government to involve and help the government of South Sudan to massacre Civilians?
The Blue and White Nile waters are factor for political intervention of Egypt in South Sudan civilian. On May 07, 1929, the Agreement between Egypt and Anglo-Egyptian agreement gave the following rights to Egypt. Agreement stated Egyptian have right to.
1- Utilize 48 and 4 billion cubic meters of the Nile flow per year
2- The flow of the Nile during January 20 to July 15 (dry season) would be reserved for Egypt;
3- Monitor the Nile flow in the upstream countries;
4- Assume the right to undertake Nile River related projects without the consent of upper riparian states (Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and Sudan)
5- Veto any construction projects that would affect her interests adversely.
However, all African now are not under British rule. Therefore, the liberated states of Nile Basin (Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and Sudan) urged each other to renegotiate for fairness and equity in distribution of Nile water. But Egypt, as the only benefactor of water never agrees to any discussion that will review water distribution. Since then, Egypt has been threatening to go to war over Nile water against any country that may consider utilizing Nile water to benefit its citizens.
The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam:
Ethiopia decided to construct dam to fight drought and famine that kill Ethiopian people and their livelihoods annually. As usual, Egyptian government tried several times to hamper Ethiopian people from building the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on the Blue Nile River in Ethiopia which is still under construction.
Egyptian strategy to confront Ethiopians through Ethiopian opposition:
The only option left for Egypt is to create and empower Ethiopian opposition and train its forces in South Sudan. The aim to open up a military front against Ethiopian government is to over throw Ethiopian government and replaced it with Egyptian sponsored government that will work in favor of Egyptian to stop construction of Ethiopian dam. If Egypt achieves this plan, Ethiopian opposition force will start attacking the Ethiopian government from within South Sudan. But the first step for Egypt is to help South Sudan to win a war against Southern Sudanese opposition whose forces are found along border of South Sudan-Ethiopian border. That why Egyptian government has sent into South Sudan military experts and intelligence last year to set up a military ally between Egypt and South Sudan. After la completion of military ally, Egypt and South Sudan forces started airstrikes since January 2017 which resulted into ongoing massacre of civilians.
Appeal to the Upper Riparian States (Ethiopia, Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda) and African Union (AU) to take the following actions:
1. Order Egyptian government to immediately end airstrikes and pull out from South Sudan
2. Launch a transparent, prompt and independent investigation against Egyptian intervention in the South Sudanese war
3. Hold Egyptian and South Sudanese presidents accountable for genocide their forces committed against the South Sudan people in Wau-Shilluk in Upper Nile and in other parts of South Sudan
