29th, 08-2014 (Nyamilepedia) -The IGAD mediation team has started the rectification process of the Civil Society selection for peace talks in Addi s-ababa.
The Civil Society which was not selected on the June 8, 2014, has been selected after the meeting on Sunday 27 July 2014 in Khartoum and in Addis- ababa as well.
The Addis-ababa and Khartoum groups selected their representatives to the IGAD peace talks which consists of :-
- Steven Riek Deng, National Youth Union, Addis -ababa group,
- Dr Wani Tombi, GRECOR, Khartoum and;
- Ms, Rita Tomath Ruai, women representative, Khartoum.
Meanwhile the Nairobi group will be meeting on 29th of July, 2014 to select their four (4) representatives. Two (2) will be women and two (2) will be Gentlemen to join the other three of Addis-Ababa and Khartoum to make Seven (7) civil society representatives respectively.
These seven will join the Seven (7) Civil Society representatives already selected on 8 June 2014 plus the four representatives from Citizen for Peace and Justice (CPJ) group which will make the total of eighteen (18) delegates for Civil Society group.
And in the statement , the Addis- Ababa, Khartoum and Nairobi group will represent families of the victims and the most affected communities in this senseless war. They have to participate in the resolution of this deadly conflict. They have to be heard, listen to and share their concerns and horrible stories they went through during this man-made crisis.
According to the statement seen by Nyamilepedia, the civil Society representatives will work together as one group whether from Resistant Controlled areas, IDP camps, and refugee camps in the neighboring or those coming from government side.
In the same document, the body of civil society will be representing and talking on behave of the voiceless South Sudanese.
