July 28, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— We, the members of Chollo Caucus in SPLM-IO in North America strongly condemned the government of South Sudan for its second attempt to assassinate the First Vice President of Republic of South Sudan Dr. Riek Machar.
We urged to hold the plotters accountable for their evil action that caused lost of lives between two forces during senseless war that started on July 7, 2016 and for the attack on UNMISS.
Our heartfelt condolences, prayers, hearts and thoughts go out to the fallen heroes and to their families. They did not die in vain, but they are martyrs who will be remembered for their courage and sacrifice for our Freedom.
We called to hold the members of international community (members of IGAD, AU and TORIKA) responsible for their unfair pressure on the leaders of SPLM-IO to move to Juba with light weapons. It was clear from the beginning that the Juba regime (the government of South Sudan) violated and obstructed the August 2015 Peace Deal through the Salva Kirr’s presidential decree to create twenty eight (28) states and appointed new governors.
Regardless of the clear violation of peace, the IGAD, AU and TORIKA went on pressing the chairman of SPLM-IO, Dr. Riek Machar to go to Juba without arms which was a green light to Salva Kirr government to eliminate his disarmed deputy (Dr. Riek Machar).
The members urged the international bodies (IGAD, AU and TORIKA) to protect the SPLM-IO members who are vulnerable to Salva Kiir security in Juba.
We also denounced and disowned Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth, Taban Deng Gai and their adherents for their contribution in conspiracy to overthrow the chairman, Dr. Riek Machar.

We, the members of the Caucus, in parallel to the statement of the governor of Fashodo State, comrade Jokina Fidel made it clear to the readers that Chollo in SPLM-IO did not hold any conference to support Taban Deng Gai and his followers as states in press statement of July 21, 2016 from Chollo members in SPLM-IO in Juba.
The members of Caucus assured the readers that we endorsed Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhuron as the Chairman and Commander in Chief and we will continue to be contributory and committed members of SPLM-IO.
We called on the IGAD, AU and TORIKA to ensure full deployment of SPLA-IO force in Juba and in all states as per condition for return of the Chairman to Juba to continue his duty.
We expressed our heartfelt appreciation to UNMISS for its humanitarian efforts to protect the vulnerable civilians.
