July 6, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– On July 4, 2016 some malicious entity used my name to issue a press statement that was published by NYAMILEPIDIA online publication titled “Series of Confrontations Between FDP/SSAF Forces With SPLA in and Around Torit, Eastern Equatoria”. The mischievous statement claimed that I am an officer with FDP/SSAF under Gabriel Changson Chan. The statement also claims that the so-called “FDP/SSAF had a number of confrontations with SPLA-IG forces” and that the same said “FDP/SSAF are under the Overall Greater Equatoria Commander General Phillip Lolori Ichina”.
I am here to inform the readers of NYAMILEPIDIA and the people of South Sudan that I am an officer with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army in Opposition (SPLM/A-IO) under the leadership of Dr Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon as Chairman and Commander-in-Chief (C-in-C), that I am the spokesperson of the SPLA-IO forces in Eastern Equatoria State (EES). As spokesperson of the SPLA-IO forces in Eastern Equatoria State (EES), I receive my orders and directives from the Office of the SPLA-IO Chief of General Staffs (COGS), First Lieutenant General Simon Gatwech Dual, in conjunction with SPLA-IO national spokesperson.

As party of the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (ARCISS), the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA-IO) forces in and around Torit are under strict orders from the Office of First Vice President and the Commander-in-Chief (C-in-C) of the SPLA-IO forces in South Sudan to comply with the agreement and all the Articles of the security arrangements that the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A-IO) signed with the Government of South Sudan (RSS).
Given the gravity of the claims, I have requested both the Sudan People’s Liberation Army in Opposition (SPLA-IO) security personnel to investigate the source and the author of the statement. I have also asked the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A-IO) legal affairs department to contact and ask the management of NYAMILEPIDIA why it published the erroneous statement without consulting me in the first place, and advise me on the legal options I may bring against the author and publisher of the statement.
