February, 3 2015 (Nyamilepedia) – In a letter dated 26 January 2015, a man who claimed to be Guit County youth leader in Juba, Mr. Chaan Chan, said the Guit community did not support the calls against Monytuel to be removed from power.

“We the youths from Guit County leadership have rejected the calls by the Mayom community for the removal of the caretaker governor of Unity state,” Chan said in a statement seen by Nyamilepedia.

However, Guit Community Chairman Geng Kuny Puok has dismissed Chan’s comments, saying the statement reflected his own personal ideology and were not representative of the wider community.

“We are not part of the statement by Chan, neither is he part of the state government, but we are pledging for peace to be restored in the Republic of South Sudan,” he added.

In current development, a group of youth and Community leaders from Guit County in Unity State have been receiving threats that the State government has been hunting them for the past two weeks due to their refusals to support the State leadership, which they categorize as a parcel of the “genocidal regime”.

In an interview carried out by Nyamilepedia on phone, reliable sources who talk in undisclosed location said, Mr. Chaan  has given twenty thousand South Sudanese Pounds (20,000) to a group of five soldiers and security intelligent to look for Geng Kuony Puok, Mathok Nyoap, Tiger Koang, Gatkuoth, Chuong Deng, Machar Gai and Gatthak Bol Yang.

The Community elders and youth are in fear, the source said.

Another reliable source told Nyamilepedia that, Mr. Chaan Chan was one of the survivors from Juba Massacre of 2013 but recently, the source alleged, the current Minister for Finance of Unity State Government, Mr. Wejuoy Luony, gave him [Mr. Chan] thirty thousand South Sudanese pounds (30,000SSp) for him to work with the government of Monytuel in Bentiu, Unity State.

Dr Manytuil was appointed as the Caretaker Governor of Unity State in 2013 July after President Kiir sacked his long term best friend, Taban Deng Gai, who has been a Governor for a decade. Many people from State are still disputing the appointment of Monytuel by President of South Sudan.

That is the cause of all problems, doing bribing for murder will not take us anywhere rather than killing and revenge killings. Let Nguen be removed so that we have peace in Bentiu

State divide apart because of interest and all about money: Neither of you would gain any benefit from this problem. I don’t think any one would solve any thing rather then arguing and kill who denounce. we have a big problem in hold country need to be solve first. Please Chan; takes your money back from security agents. the youth voice would not remove your governor.
