Feb 12, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) — The “leadership of the revolutionary youth” of the Egyptian Muslim brotherhood has threatened foreigners with physical violence, demanding that they leave Egypt by February 11, threatening violence if their demands are not met.

An anchor on the brotherhood-associated television channel Arabia, aired the statement on Saturday citing unnamed elements of the ” leadership of the revolutionary youth”.

According to the statement which was seen by Nyamilepedia editorial staff, foreigners, as well as companies, embassies and consulates must also evacuate and stop their activities in the country, threatening physical violence if their demands are not met as well.

This is not the first threat against foreigners to have been issued by military in Egypt. Last year, extremists operating in north Sinai also promised to cause harm to foreign tourist visiting the country.

The South Sudanese government, which has signed several agreements that benefits Egypt more than South Sudan, has done very little in both cases to safe the situations.

The South Sudanese President, Salva Kiir, foreign affairs and defense minister have all visited the country within the last one year, however, the main focus has been on military deals, Agriculture and how Egypt can invest in South Sudan.

In mid November, during Salva Kiir’s visit,  the two countries signed a water and technical support deal, worth $26 million Us dollar, in exchange of River Bahr el Ghazal water, worth $11 billions, to be channeled through River Nile to Egypt.

Although the two countries are members of Nile Basin Initiative (NBI), which comprise of South Sudan, Egypt, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia and Sudan, River Barh el Ghazal is not part of the River Nile water treaties. This gives South Sudan all rights of ownership to water and resources of River Bahr el Ghazal.

During the same visit several businessmen signed parrallel deals with their Egyptian counterparts in areas that include electricity, education, youth and sport, petroleum, health, among others.

Despite the prospering bilateral relationship between the two countries, South Sudanese youth, who are facing hardship in Egypt have been on headlines for crimes, violence and destruction, yet the government of the two countries hardly intervene.

I am sure the Muslim Brotherhood are planning a showdown. I would get out of their way if I was in Egypt and vacation somewhere till they are done doing whatever they are planning.
