An Open Letter To President JOHN MAGUFUL And Other East African Leaders

FROM THE OFFICE OF SPLM IO DEPUTY REPRESENTATIVE TO THE UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA:

TO: H.E JOHN MAGUFUL, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA

H.E HAROLD NSEKELA, EAST AFRICAN COMMUNITY JOINT PRESIDENT.

ALL: EAC HEAD OF STATES:

Your Excellencies,

Jan 29, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —— The office of the SPLM IO Deputy Representative to the United Republic of Tanzania condemns in the strongest terms possible the kidnappings of SPLM IO Chairman of the National Committee of Humanitarian affairs Hon. Aggrey Idri and Samuel Dong Luak, a well known Human rights activist in Nairobi- Kenya by the security of the authoritarian regime in Juba in collaboration with some agents within the Kenyan Security organ. This is a serious violation of the Geneva conventions, the African Union and the East African Community Charters which clearly prohibits such acts. I call upon Kenya and Uganda to stand in line with other members of the East African Community to work with the wider international community to restore peace and stability in South Sudan instead of helping the regime in Juba to advance its dictatorial agenda which is contrarily to the charter of the East African Community to which South Sudan is a member.

It is very important here to mention that peace in South Sudan means peace in the region starting from the neighboring countries. The East African Community Charter calls for the promotion of peace, security and stability among member states, promotion of democracy, rule of law and respect for human rights, peaceful settlement of disputes and conflicts. All these charters I have enumerated above are missing in South Sudan and yet it boast of being a member of the East African Community. There is no democracy in South Sudan, there is no rule of law in South Sudan, there is no accountability in South Sudan, there is no transparency in South Sudan, there is no social justice in South Sudan, there is no equal opportunities in South Sudan, for heaven sake, why did the members of the East African Community not see this clearly facts?

Your Excellencies,

My Chairman H.E Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon has from the start and upto now continues to advocate for a peaceful settlement of South Sudan’s conflict and peace is not only for the interest of South Sudanese but also for the region and the world. The people of South Sudan want peace, EAC, IGAD, AU, EU,Troika and the wider international community should not allow a few group of people who have no love for the country and its people to continue fueling the conflicts and disintegrating the entire country into tribal units. The whole world know that it is only one side that have been violating the agreement and that is the government under President Salva Kiir simply because they are not interested in a peaceful settlement of the conflict. There is no military solution to this conflict, we in the SPLM IO under the visionary leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny believes in a political solution and we are appealing to the members of the East African Community, the IGAD, the African Union, UN, EU and the Troika to call for a political process to review the August 2015 agreement so that peace and stability is restored in South Sudan.

Thank you.

Signed:

Peter Oyoyo Kleto

Clear and concise. Why does the AU/IGAD/EU/UN and Troika support the aggressor and not the victims of aggression?

It is contrary to international law and also to common sense to take the side of killers, rapists, genocidists, thieves, yet this is exactly what is happening.

IO is here to Oppose those who kill and main for personal profit. IO is here to give the people of Sudan a voice. IO is here to work with the people of South Sudan for the betterment of South Sudan.
IO is the voice of the mothers and fathers who have seen their children slaughtered. Girls raped, boys castrated.

Why does not AU/IGAD/EU/UN and Troika help giving voices to the victims?
