To his excellence, Kiir Mayardit, the President of the Republic of South Sudan, and to James Wani Igga and Taban Deng Gai
August 21, 2016(Nyamilepedia) -– We the members of the greater Padang Jieng community in North America would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for the leadership role you have played since 2005 to the present. We would also like to thank you for the appointment of General Taban Deng Gai as the new first vice-president for the benefit of peace to prevail. Indeed Mr. President, the members of the Padang Jieng Community in the diaspora and back at home in South Sudan, remains supportive of your work to bring peace to our country of Republic of South Sudan.
Mr. President, you also know that we the citizens of Padang Jieng continue to stand firm behind the government of South Sudan with unwavering solidarity since the Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed in 2005. We continue to stand with your leadership to protect the constitution of our country from internal and external invaders. Mr. President, Padang Jieng Community in Diaspora and at home urgently calls on your administration to address and relocate the SPLM/IO unconstitutional military that are still settled in the areas of Padang Jieng Counties. These forces are not the national forces that abide by the nation’s will and constitution, nor are they for the will of the newly created states of Padang Jieng existent. The residents of these places occupied by those illegal forces scare to go back to their homes because they do not trust them due to the fact that they are not national organized forces.

The Padang Jieng Community do peacefully request the Government of the Republic of South Sudan to make an urgent consideration to relocate those unconstitutional cantonment forces that are located in Padang Jieng Community areas such as Gel Achol in Baliet County, Atar county, and Khorflus county in Eastern Nile State as well as in some as northern, and western parts of Ruweng State. Our children are desperate to go back home, but Padang community is not interested to start anything that may derail peace in the country. Padang Jieng Communities are yearning for peace the same way as every South Sudanese community. Padang Jieng Community deserve peace in their newly states like every other southerners in their states. Mr. President, Padang Jieng states’ security have been hindered by the present of these illegal forces in Padang areas in Eastern Nile State. Padang Jieng Community asks for relocation of these troops from those current cantonments places to where their activities and settlement will be supervised by the government in order not to threat the will and the security of the civilians. However, any attempt to undermine Padang Jieng Community who has been suffering will derail the peace you are trying to build because no one would want to live with snake in the same room.
The Nuer SPLM/IO must be relocated to their prospective states or designated place by the government where they will not bother or threat the peace building process in the country or states until they are ready to integrate. Padang Jieng Community’s two states are willing to endorse internal peace between its neighbors and the whole country, but the present of these illegal forces threat the mutual coexistent, peace, stability and the movement of civilian from place to place. We the members of the Padang Jieng Community in North America pray for peace to come to South Sudan because our community has been suffering greatly in the hands of oppressors. Padang community in the diaspora do kindly extended our message to our governors across the 28 states in the Republic of South Sudan to respect the role that General Taban and his IO are playing in the peace implementation process; however two army existences in one country must die. We support one national army or integrated forces for peaceful South Sudan.
The Padang Jieng diaspora is ever grateful for your decision to appoint Comrade Taban on behalf of the IO. The steps taken by your government and General Taban will probably bring lasting peace to South Sudan and our communities of the Greater Upper Nile Region. We want you to know that the appointment of Mr. Taban will help the communities of the Padang Jieng, Shilluk, and the Nuer in the Upper Nile Region to establish an ever lasting peace agreement between the government and the former rebels of Dr. Riek Machar for better than ever. Nevertheless, the SPLA/SPLM IO and other political parties in South Sudan must unite the country under the leadership of President Kiir Mayardit, James Wani, and General Taban Deng Gai. We are very thankful for the role you are playing in South Sudan, and we welcome you. We also thank for coming this far to visit us here in the United States. Under the leadership of General Taban, the Padang Jieng Community is hopeful that we will see a united national army, instead of divided militants.
With the appointment of General Taban in place of Dr. Riek Machar, the Padang Jieng Community has a real opportunity for peace. We are tired of war, and we are sick of watching an entire generation of our brothers and sisters in South Sudan die for no reason, at the hands of those who have claimed that they are liberators.

“We the members of the Padang Jieng Community in North America pray for peace to come to South Sudan because our community has been suffering greatly in the hands of oppressors.”
Apparently, the Padang have a different oppressor contrary to the obvious and usual suspect which is the tribal regime in Juba that is oppressing every other tribes in South Sudan.
“The Padang Jieng diaspora is ever grateful for your decision to appoint Comrade Taban on behalf of the IO.”
…Well put, the problem here is that Taban had defected and discarded(dumb in a trash) by the SPLM-In-Opposition ‘s leadership days before his appointment could be deemed constitutionally legal and or legitimate.
(that’s if the Padangs understands the concept of what a constitution is..)
Its ok to be grateful of course if one is not aware that Kiir and his tribal extremists picked up a discarded trash(Taban).
One should understand that frustrating the implementation of the TGONU and the already fragile peace agreement by endorsing the illegal appointment of Taban makes one an enemy to both peace and the implementation of the TGONU where real and lasting peace will remain in fantasy land and not Padang land.
thanks God,this conflict resulted into unity of padang community.
