March 31, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) — My President must appreciate the fact that South Sudanese will never live up to their full potential until we heal the deep wounds of the past.

It is such a humongous and prodigious responsibility and honor to be called President of the Republic of South Sudan. Unfortunately, this title has been earned to date by a man who outfoxed and outplayed everyone, a man who ensured that none could compete with him for the position; a man who surrounded himself with yes men and insulated himself from the people; a man who sacrificed his life to be there and then sacrificed our well-being in order for him to stay there. That is not leadership.

My President will be of Godly fearing kind, humble, ambitious, flexible and generous to the minorities /small tribes in the young country. That will reflect Equality and togetherness for all in our young nation.

South Sudan needs a president who serves only the Constitution and puts the people first. A president who does not owe any favors to anyone, and has a high self-esteem not from what he has done or his material wealth, but from who he is and what he stands for.

Our president in the future must appreciate the fact that South Sudan will never live up to its full potential until we heal the wounds of the past.

Too many of us have been emotionally, psychologically, physically and financially harmed by this regime. Only recompense and healing will create a new door to a better a future. The past is gone and we cannot continue to blame our history, but we have to acknowledge those things that have gone wrong and correct them. We must look to the future, but only learn from our past. It will take courage and humanness to cross that bridge, but the ultimate benefits to our society are much higher than the costs.

The rot in our society, in general, must be arrested; our values as a society are repugnant. We shall need a man or woman at the Parliament [State house] who ensures that we change direction as a nation in what we value most. This I think will be the hardest thing to do. We shall need someone to begin to re-engineer our society in all spheres so that we can start a new chapter centered on the respect and dignity of our people.

Our churches have deteriorated somewhat in giving spiritual and moral guidance to our citizens and this trend must be arrested. My president must play a significant role on this through leading by example, it is important.

The president I want must clean up the police from the top and also ensure that those in the army that are no longer of service to the future objectives of the country are retired. The struggle is over and inculcating this in the brains of the top echelons of our army will take some doing, but is important. A new ethos of service, honor and the respect of our Constitution must arise. God help us.

We need an open-minded individual in in the Bush or in the State house who does not fear change and recognizes that open societies develop better and faster. This will demand a new paradigm and leadership style based on persuasion and vision, not on threats or violence.

I want a president who recognizes that as more citizens participate in creating the future, the more exciting and sustainable it will be. We can only create better solutions through an inclusive agenda that acknowledges that all of us in our diversity have something to contribute.

An open media, universal access to new information, freedom of association and speech all create empowered societies and everyone wins. My president must promote this.

I want a president who is not a Nepotistic or tribalist; a president who understands that all South Sudanese, regardless of their backgrounds have certain inalienable rights that he or she must protect at all costs. He or she must not blame others for our problems, but take full responsibility for them.

My president must truly believe that we indeed have the capabilities and resources to come up with solutions to whatever challenges we may face in our country. That is the patriotism I expect.

South Sudan has fallen behind so much in the last 10 years in all spheres. As a result, our quality of life has suffered despite us having the resources. As long as we have someone in State House who does not understand future trends, we will continue to regress. We, therefore, must expedite the use of new technologies, IT to accelerate development. We need a grand vision and strategy on how we can catch up. The future is no longer what it used to be.

I want a president who embraces South Sudanese in the diaspora who offer our country impressive talents and have a critical role to play in creating a developed state.

So, whoever is there in the Bush, Diaspora or at State House, must not only be technologically literate, but must acknowledge that our country will remain underdeveloped as long as we remain internally focused and ignore the reality that the world out there is moving on, faster than we can imagine.

I want a president who is not arrogant or self-important. My President must know that he or she will not have all the solutions.

My president must put South Sudan first!

I have spoken my words and may gods of the land hear my voice……………….

The commander-in-chief you want is not your Riek Machar sociopath either my friend get on and live with this glaring fact. The Nuers will always bark at the sideline hoping and dreaming that one day, their Riek Machar prophet will someday rule South Sudan! Let the Nuers keep dreaming, dreaming is not a crime though. But for Riek Machar to rule South Sudan is not going to happen as long as there would be some breathing Dinkas in South Sudan, simple and square.

Another Nuer will rule South Sudan and South Sudanese people including the Dinkas in future, but Riek Machar to rule South Sudan and South Sudanese people including the Dinkas? BIG NO.

Riek Machar is a snag to peace in South Sudan, the Nuers don’t want to know this, but this is a plain fact and it is up to the Nuers to face up to this fact and devise a solution, otherwise the Nuers will continue to fight on until their Riek Machar dies in exile.

Salva Kiir that the Nuers think doesn’t like them is their man in the whole of Dinka community, but the Nuers don’t read things in between lines. Salva Kiir has been very very soft on the Nuers, but these days, the Nuers must watch out. Many South Sudanese people don’t want the Nuers to get away with things these days. Throwing tantrums like babies isn’t being tolerated these days.

According to you the Jaang gets to choose for Nuers which leader should represent them at whatever level you deem is fit for you? I supposed you also wants to be in charge of all the arranged marriages between the Nuers communities including family matters, local courts, traditional and religious matters. You are fucked in the head.

The powerful nations like the US, Europeans Nations, Arab Nations & Isreal gets to veto against African countries when in actual fairness the African continental nations should be the ones to decide what motion to veto as long as they deem it is against the greater good of their countries or continent.

Ghol Chot, FYI the world is changing and leaving the stupidity of suppression behind but you seem incredibly determined in going backwards and against the twirling winds of change. You make so much noise about one man when the truth is you are using Machar to deny millions of Nuer their rightful share in South Sudan. Last time I check the SPLM/A – Pagaak faction has 70% of arm force consisting of a good number of all 63+ tribes. why does it matter the Nuers and the former VP amongst the millions not happy with the policies of Juba gov.

Lielu GatNor, as you keep preaching against Dinka, can you allow your brain explore areas where intelligence and common sense exist? I have many Nuer and Dinka friends who are really jolly, I don’t know where you keep generalising the entire community just because you are not happy with one person! Well, you might be a great idiot of the 21st century but there is always a moment that a fool can also say something positive. Why always talking shit about Dinka when Riek is being backed-up by some of them? Don’t you think you are betraying their commitments? These back-stabbing-games won’t work buddy. Learn manners, you might be good at internet wars but this is a time where your existence in front-line is necessary, we don’t need big-mouthed cowards here.

Thoncamkepeelen.

You just took my comment above and rephrased it with a twist. So why are you mad. I don’t preach against any tribe nor am I against any individual but the system and its many agents of all tribes of different backgrounds. That was a cheap shot I encourage you Mr. Cam Cieth to try again so I can tell you where to go.

those who labor for peace are called peacemaker because they tirelessly pursue non violent solution, work for economic and social justice, celebrate diversity, and strive to builds relationship between adversary through education, conflicts mediation, and humanitarian relief, we recognizes that peace is both a mean and end it is simultaneously and that it is never finally or fully achieved.
this is because changes and growth require some degree of tension or conflicts. historically, such conflicts has provided the impetus for military solution . thus we, veteran’s for peace , strongly believe that the greatest obstacle to peace is militarism with its reliance on violence and war. we further believe that peacekeeping action should only be accomplished by a legitimate international body. (committee to define peace, veteran for peace).

Thanks mr. Sirrir, Salva kiir is considering himself as the only one remain among those who form SPLA to covering all the wrong things they did in the past i.e hijacking South Sudanese voice for independence in 1983. They begins to create all types of chaos among South Sudanese tribe, they also establish soldier fighting civilian and forceful recruitment to the army from children to Adult

Hey yah useless pot pot or whatever you calls yourself! You need to be educated due to your ignorant on the achievements of Dr. Machar in bring us the independence of South Sudan which you dinkas were oppossing for United Sudan due to your greedy of leadership. So, we S. Sudanese citizens should give a valuable credit to Dr. Machar simply because we have Republic of S. Sudan (RoSS) because his Nasir declarations of Self-determination in 1991. In that, don’t forget that S. Sudan’s independence is the fruit of 1991 declaration of Dr. Riak Machar Teny Dhurgon, okay?
