Sep 10, 2021 — Maj. Gen, Dr Akol Ayii was appointed on the 21st of November 2018 through a Presidential decree by the President of the Republic of South Sudan to oversee the smooth running of the South Sudan Customs Services and to collect excise duties on behalf of the government.
Maj. Gen, Dr Akol Ayii is the current 6th Director-General of South Sudan Customs Services and had similarly served as the Commissioner of Customs Division under National Revenue Authority (NRA). General Akol Ayii holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Resource and Management from African Graduate College in Dar es Salam –Tanzania. General Dr Akol is the only youthful Director General of South Sudan Customs Services who was prepared, developed and trained within the system and climbed the highest seat of Director General of South Sudan Customs Services with the hopes of winning an extra high profile position in the government of South Sudan.
Maj. Gen Akol Ayii ascended from underside to the top and held numerous senior positions within the Customs Division before he sailed the seat of Director-General.
