Juba, South Sudan

Your Excellencies,

Wednesday, 27- March – 2025(Nyamilepedia) — With great respect and deep concern for the future of our beloved country, South Sudan, I write this open letter to urge you both to take decisive and bold actions to end the persistent conflicts that continue to destroy our nation.

For over a decade, our people have endured immense suffering—displacement, hunger, violence, and economic hardship. The ongoing tensions and divisions have weakened our institutions, hindered development, and eroded the hope that millions of South Sudanese once had for a peaceful and prosperous nation. The conflict is too dangerous for our country, and it must stop.

Your Excellencies, as the highest leaders of our nation, you bear the responsibility to unite our people and guide South Sudan towards a lasting peace. Personal ambitions, political rivalries, and mistrust must be set aside for the sake of national unity. Our country needs healing, reconciliation, and inclusive governance that represents all South Sudanese.

The 2018 Revitalized Peace Agreement was a step in the right direction, but its full implementation remains slow and fragile. The people of South Sudan cannot afford another cycle of violence and instability. I urge you to:

  1. Commit to genuine dialogue – Engage in open discussions that prioritize national interests over individual or party gains.
  2. Strengthen peace implementation – Ensure that all provisions of the peace agreement are fully honored and that security arrangements are effectively implemented.
  3. Promote reconciliation – Encourage unity among different communities and political groups through truth, justice, and accountability.
  4. Deliver basic services – Focus on improving healthcare, education, and infrastructure to rebuild our broken nation.
  5. End corruption and impunity – Ensure that public resources benefit the people, not a few individuals.

The world is watching, but more importantly, the people of South Sudan are watching. They want peace, stability, and a government that serves them. The time for change is now. If South Sudan is to thrive, it must be through unity, not division.

I call upon both of you, President Salva Kiir and Vice President Dr. Riek Machar, to embrace this historic moment and lead with courage and wisdom. Our future depends on it.

With hope for a peaceful South Sudan,
