Letter to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the president of Uganda

Nov 23, 2021 — In Africa and around the world the news is all about the bad side of events that happened. Good things done are not good news and no one wants to hear about the good things done. But in this article I have to appreciate the achievements of Uganda as a nation during your leadership and recognize by writing the good things achieved during your time in leadership. The history of Uganda from independent time through many leaders experienced many things and the population and the economy was lowest and Uganda remained a very poor country.

The population of Uganda in 1979 was 12.09 million people and by the time NRM took over power in 1986 the population was 15.07 million people. There was inflation and the money lost value. In the 1960s to 1986 the people lived under the poverty line. The infrastructures were in bad shape and the whole population had little hope for prosperity and happiness in the country of their own. But Uganda as a nation was in the plan of God and it’s time to come out of all odds. 1986 marks the dawn of new hope for Uganda to change to become a country of opportunities and roads to prosperity and freedoms. 

During the NRM government, the population increased from 12.09 million people in 1979 to 47,739,756 people in 2021 because of improved health services, good security, good feeding and progressive economic growth. The GDP per capita rose to 817.04 US$ billions as of 2020. The safety of all Ugandans is progressing well as the security mechanisms are advancing well in safety measures.  The leadership has Ugandans’ safety in heart.

Uganda is advancing well in production and manufacturing industries and now it has Kiira Motors that is manufacturing cars and another company manufacturing buses. It became fourth in car manufacturing in Africa after the pioneering country South Africa, Birkin, that manufactures and sells cars to the world. The second country in car manufacturing is Nigeria, an Innoson company that manufactures cars, trucks and other vehicles good for the region. The third country is Ghana’s company Kantanka that manufactures cars. Uganda has been known for producing other goods and medicine and is a well known food producer and main supplier of food produce to South Sudan. Soon Uganda will produce coronavirus vaccine or medicine that will save lives of Ugandans from dying and the lives of those in the region (the leadership is not to give ear to those in the west who do not want Africans to create new things and are ready to oppose the vaccine developed in Uganda). All these happened because Ugandans were given freedom to do everything good that they are able to do. Ugandans developed during the NRM government and houses were built, hospitals and schools were built and roads were built from border to border except Adjumani, Moyo and Nyumbe which are still in plan to build them soon.  It is believed that before your term ends, these roads are tarmacked. Uganda development and grew powerful under your leadership.

You know why you went into the bush and fought the war, you proved to Ugandans the purpose and the goodness of fighting the war. You did not fight to bring suffering to Ugandans or subject them to extreme poverty but you fought to bring changes to lives and living conditions. Ugandans have reaped the benefits they enjoyed even though your long stay in power is the blame on your leadership but you did many good things that placed Uganda in good shape. The economy has improved and the protection of Ugandans is better as of the past.

Your current challenges are the corona virus that have killed Uganda and closed the future of the children as the third year of school closure is approaching. Thank God that you promised to open the schools in January 2022. The corona virus is at the corner to be thrown out of Uganda. The terrorists are the new threat to the lives of Ugandans and every person who lives in Uganda. This is the thing to be defeated and eradicated in Uganda. The dissatisfied ADF and the presence of UPDF in Somalia are the causes of terror attacks against Ugandans because they are there to fight terrorist organizations. The security agents are to be more prepared to bring this danger to innocent lives to an end. Terrorists are devils in human flesh who do not know God and are working for Lucifer, the Satan. They must be defeated. Good must overcome evil.

You are a respected leader in the region, you consider your honor after retirement and work in these last days of your leadership to keep the honor alive..
