October 5th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Since the signing of the Cessation of Hostilities between the government and the opposition groups on 21st December 2017, the permanent ceasefire agreement on 27th June 2018 and R-ARCSS on 12th September 2018, the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit and his forces never stopped the aggression on the opposition position on the ground.
Instead, the government troops intensified attacks on opposition forces on daily bases. The government troops continue to attack civilians in the areas controlled by the SPLA-IO forces in Wau, Yai, Kajo Kegi, Rubkona and many different part in the Republic of South Sudan.
These barbaric killings, burning and looting properties of civilians in the areas controlled by the opposition forces are a clear violation of R-ARCSS and therefore prove the truth that the regime in Juba is against the peace agreement and will never honor the R-ARCSS. Sadly, instead of implementing the peace agreement to stop the war, on 26th September 2018 the government forces went to Ongo Baggari burnt houses, destroyed agriculture crops, loot civilian properties including school properties.
Unfortunately the government troops continue its violation with further attacks on opposition forces in Wau state, specifically in Umboro, Ongo beerei, Frajallah, Ongo Ku, Ngisa etc. Whereas on 3rd October 2018 the government forces used internationally banned weapons to push the opposition forces back, in order to kill civilian, burnt houses, destroye crops and loot civilian properties.
We condemn in strongest terms possible these attacks by the government troops on civilians. We call on UNMISS, CTSAMVM and other International Organization on the ground to condemn and document these violations by Juba regime.
We reserve our right of self defense.
