Juba, South Sudan
July 26, 2021 — Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok has appointed Yasser Saeed Arman and four others to the advisory portfolios.
Hamdok has named the Deputy Chairman of Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), Yasser Saeed Arman as advisor on political affairs alongside three other advisors.
According to a statement extended to Nyamilepedia, the Prime Minister also names Aisha Hamad Mohammed as an advisor on Gender affairs, Ali Juma Abdullah as an adviser on governance and institutional reforms and Hassan Nasrallah Ali Karar as a peace adviser.
The Prime Minister also sacked Al-Tahir Abdul Qayyum Ibrahim from his position as a National Auditor Genderal and announced Fakhr al-Din Abdul Rahman Ali as an interim auditor general.
The SPLM-N is part and parcel of the transitional government under the auspices of Juba peace agreement signed in October 2020 in which the SPLM-N leader, Gen. Malik Agar, was appointed to the Transitional Sovereign Council to represent the armed opposition.
Yasser Saeed Arman is a long time Cadre of Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army. He contested for Presidential seat in Sudanese 2010’s General Election via SPLM-N ticket; however, he withdrew later citing electoral frauds by the former dictator, Omar Hassan el Bashir.
