Payam Executive director, Eissa Marko Ujuomo confirmed to media yesterday. According to Ujuomo, the woman identified as Adong Utho Madut was stabbed and killed by her husband, Upieu Buc Upieu.

According to reliable information extended to Nyamilepedia, the murder case was caused by domestic violence which resulted from a misunderstanding over unpaid bride price.

“The incident occurred in a place called Toba-Awin, south of Kuajiena town, the area is under the control of the SPLA-IO forces,” Payam director Marko said. “The woman had one child. She is called Adong Utho Madut and the killer is called Upieu Buc Upieu,” he added.

Marko elaborated further that the family of the deceased had taken her back home because the husband never paid any dowry.

“The information is that this man did not pay any bride price to the family and the woman was withdrawn from him until he could pay. But last night the man came to the home of his wife in the absence of her family and started asking the woman to go with him. When the woman refused, he started fighting the woman till he stabbed the woman to death,” Marko explained.

Marko added that the killer is still at large but that SPLA-IO forces in the area are trying their best to make sure that the criminal is arrested and handed over to the concerned authorities.
