Wife of top South Sudanese general sexually assualted in Uganda: sources

October 18th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – A wife of a top South Sudanese army general has been sexually assaulted in the neighboring Uganda’s capital Kampala by unknown Ugandan assailants who also took her possessions.

The wife of the unidentified general who has not also been named by the source was returning from a bar where a party took place over the weekend and was beaten and left almost dead when the unknown Ugandan assailants left the scene.

“Yesterday, On Saturday, we found the woman lying in the street here in Kampala, we met her at a party in a Bar when we letter met her lying almost dead in the street and we could not find a relative for her because her phone was taken,” the source told the Nyamilepedia on Thursday.

The same source said there is evidence that the attackers are Ugandan because prior to the incident, there was a group of suspected Ugandan criminals before the gate of the bar waiting for people leaving the bar.

“They are Ugandans and we have evident because a group of criminal gangs were standing by the gate waiting for people to rope,” the source added when asked about the attackers.

According to a picture published by the Khartoum based Al-Intibaha, the wife can be seen punched in her face and there is evident that he had been attacked although the Sudanese newspaper did not echoed the same claim by a Nyamilepedia source in Kampala that he had been sexually assaulted.

Since the onset of the ongoing South Sudan conflict, Uganda has been a home to thousands of South Sudanese seeking refugee there as they flee violent back in South Sudan.

Other sources have told the Nyamilepedia that investigation into the incident have started but no one has been charged yet for the incident.
