WHO South Sudan donates 4 oxygen concentrators to help in the fight against COVID-19

Oct 3, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — The World Health Organization South Sudan has today donated 4 Oxygen concentrators and other essential drugs to the state ministry of Health in Awiel for use in the COVID-19 isolation.

The oxygen concentrators were procured with the support from the foreign, common Wealth and development Office (FCDO) and European Union in South Sudan.

This donation comes at a time when the country has a total confirmed 2,705 cases from a sample size of 28,953 as of October 1st, 2020.

On a lighter note, there are 2, 553 recoveries, however, 50 people have passed on from the virus since the first case was confirmed in April.

The ministry has continued to advise the public to strictly continue adhering to the social distancing and other anti-coronavirus measures as the number of cases continue to surge globally.

The number of Coronavirus worldwide has surpassed 34 million cases since the outbreak of the virus in Wuhan, China.  

24.1 million people have recovered. Sadly, over 1.03 million people have died from the pandemic so far.
