July 21st 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Renowned South Sudanese academic and fierce government critic, Dr. Peter Adwok Nyaba, has criticized South Sudanese for expecting President Salva Kiir Mayardiit to act like ex-US president Barack Obama when he has no primary school certificate.
Nyaba was a senior member of the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) before resigning in 2014 shortly after a leadership wrangling within the party led the world’s youngest nation into a bloody civil war.
In a brief statement on his social media page on Saturday, Nyaba said South Sudan had an educational opportunity but they lost such opportunity after they elected a man who has not educational background.
“When South Sudan secured her independence eight years ago, the country was a nation of more than ten millions persons. Roughly, there were about 100 active Professors, about 250 PhD holders, about 1000 Master’s degrees holders, about 2000 BScs holders, about 3000 College diplomas holders, about 5000 Secondary Schools Certificates holders, and about 10,000 Primary Schools Certificates holders,” Nyaba wrote.
“However, with all these educational opportunities, South Sudanese confused and proudly elect a man who can’t find his primary School Certificate to led them into a digital ages,” he adds before asking: “You elect illiterate president and you expected him to serves like Obama?”
