The Former Detainees on Tuesday met with President Salva Kiir in the capital Juba and discussed the reunification of the party.

Speaking following the meeting at the Presidential Palace, Deng Alor Kuol, who led the FDs delegation said they have all agreed to reunited the fractured party.

“All of us have agreed to reunite the SPLM and come back to SPLM as a family,” he told the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporations (SSBC).

“The President is very happy and is going to cooperate with all of us so that we see the unity of SPLM as soon as possible,” he added.

In a bid to reassure SPLM membership of the SPLM unity, Deng said he “want to tell our people, the members of the SPLM wherever they are, that your family is going back together as one.”

He said the FDs and the SPLM faction led by President Salva Kiir will soon form a committee to complete this task in the near future promising SPLM unity.

“We are going to form a small committee from us [and] from SPLM on the side of the President and soon, SPLM,  in a very short time to come,  we will see the SPLM as a united family again,” Deng who was flanked by other members of the FDs delegation as well as the Chairperson of NPTC Tutkew Gatluak said.
