VP Taban rallies on SPLM to win the first elections come 2023!

Juba, South Sudan,

Oct 3, 2021— South Sudan’s Vice President for Infrastructure Cluster, Taban Deng Gai said the period of three years in politics is just like three months.

VP Taban, who’s also a senior member of the SPLM Political Bureau, advised SPLM members to work hard for the upcoming elections.

Speaking during the SPLM caucus on Thursday, VP Taban Deng Gai said the incumbent government is transitional and not the SPLM led government and as such the SPLM should work hard to secure the victory by 2023.

“.. What you don’t know is that this government is Transitional Government not SPLM led government but Coalition government formed from different political forces”, VP Deng said.

“We need to work hard to make sure that SPLM won the elections by 2023”, he added.

Deng also admitted that, the appointment of Cde. Peter Lam Both by SPLM chairman president Kiir was worthwhile and it’s a reward of his long-term service to the party leadership.

” Last time I didn’t get a chance to congratulate Mr. Chairman, president Kiir for appointing Comrade Lam Both but today let me take this opportunity to congratulate Mr.Chairman for appointing Cde. Lam”,Taban Deng said.

“Lam is a dedicated Cadre who deserves the position”,he added.

Deng also advised the SPLM members to respect the constitution of the liberation party in order to avoid the repeating mistakes.
