December 21, 2021—The Vice Chancellor of University of Juba, Prof. John Akec, has pledged to open new departments by next year in the country’s oldest and highest learning institution.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, Prof. Akec says, the University shall witness new facilities that have never existed before in University campus by 2022.
” New schools will will be established and include Schools of Petroleum Engineering, Public Health and Nursing; and School of Pharmacy”, Prof. Akech stated on his official Facebook.
Vice chancellor Akech said next year the university will break sound barrier as he expects the flow of students, both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
“In 2022, the University of Juba will break the sound barrier. We will have 30,000 students at undergraduate level, and 5,000 postgraduate students.” he added.
Prof Akech stressed that 2022 shall be a year of great progress meanwhile acknowledging that it might come with setbacks which he believes could be subdued through the constant use of communication technologies.
” It will be a year of great progress that is pregnant with new challenges to overcome with increasing use of communication technologies in our campus”, he further elaborated.
” We Can’t wait. In the meantime, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2022″, he added.
Prof. Akech was appointed as the Vice Chancellor for University of Juba in 2014 and since then a significant improvement has been witnessed under his administration.
He made a developmental progress in University and carried out renovation initiatives which have shaped the view of the university.
