USAID sworn in a new Mission Director for South Sudan

August 19, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — The United States Agency for International Development(USAID), an independent agency of the United States federal government, has sworn in a new Mission Director for South Sudan today in Juba, South Sudan.

“Today in Juba, Mr. Haven Cruz-Hubbard (left) was sworn in as USAID’s Mission Director for South Sudan by U.S. Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Stephen G. Fakan (right).” USAID announced on its social media networks.

Speaking during the swearing in ceremony, the new country director, Mr. Haven Cruz-Hubbard, said that we should look forward to a future free of corruption, hunger and violence.

“Let us stand tall together as we look upward to a future free of corruption, hunger and violence,” Mr. Cruz-Hubbard said.

Mr. Mr. Cruz-Hubbard pledged that under his leadership he will ensure that USAID will make efforts to empower girls, women and marginalized people of South Sudan.

“I am excited about this opportunity to guide USAID’s efforts to empower people in South Sudan, particularly girls, women, and marginalized people, by building resilience and self-reliance.” Mr. Cruz-Hubbard continued.

Although fairly involved in politics, the United States Agency for International Development focuses on development assistance while administering civilian foreign aid on behalf of the federal government of the United States of America.
