US Trump: SPLM is a terrorist organization

October 7th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – United States President Donald John Trump has mocked the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) calling it a terrorist organization that has terrorized the people of South Sudan sparking condemnation from top government officials including the First Vice President who visited the United States early this month.

First Vice President Taban Deng Gai went to New York early this month to attend the 73rd annual session of the United Nations General Assembly meeting which is also attended by many international world leaders.

The First Vice President held talks with White House officials in which he conveyed to them how recent remarks by President Trump disappointed the government of a country marred in a bloody civil war since December 2013.

South Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for its part issued a protest note to the US Embassy in Juba denouncing US President Trump for labeling the ruling party as terrorist organization.

Peter Lam Both secretary for information and the spokesman SPLM said although Trump didn’t identify the SPLM by a name, it is obvious that he meant the SPLM because it is the ruling party in the country.

He said he is surprised by the US President’s remarks against the party because the party never expected the same from a one time ally which supported South Sudan during the struggle.

The official further accused the United States of supporting and arming South Sudanese rebels which he said have been caring looting activities and killing people on the high ways across the country saying the Trump’s statements were intended to create lack of confident between the ruling party and the people of South Sudan from.
