July 25th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – A group of South Sudanese civil society organizations in the United States of America have wrote to the US President Donald J. Trump for taking what they called serious action aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in South Sudan.
In a letter to the US president dated July 20th and seen by the Nyamilepedia, three South Sudan civil society organizations said they thanks trump for taking serious actions aimed at ending the South Sudan’s bloody conflict.
“The undersigned representatives of South Sudanese Civil Society Organizations in United States express the deepest appreciation to you [President Trump] for taking serious actions to in order to end the political crisis in South Sudan since you took the office,” the statement partly read.
The statement appreciated the move by the UN Security Council early this month to adopt a US drafted arms embargo on South Sudan and sanctions against generals identified by the world body as derailing the peace efforts and perpetuating the war.
“The arms embargo, the sanctioning of number of corrupted leaders are superb initiatives that could make them hear the call,” the statement
The civil society group further appreciated the United States President for personal care about the people of South Sudan which they said had been subjected to brutality by the “Juba regime”.
“These efforts and many more have shown how much you, as a person and leader, cares as well as the deep compassion the US citizens have for the South Sudanese. We thank you so much sir for all these efforts,” the statement added.
