March 25, 2022—Unity State Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports David Gai Jiejor has dissolved the Executive Board of Unity State Youth Union (USUU).
This comes a week after the newly Chairperson of Unity State Youth Union structured her office.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, the Unity State Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports David Gai Jiejor issued a ministerial order on Wednesday 23rd of March 2022 dissolving the executive members appointed by the new Chairperson elect of Unity State Youth Union Ms. Nyadin Lual Gai.
Mr. Gai said the order shall be effective on the date of its signature by the state Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
“.. This order shall be cited as Ministerial Order No (9) 2022 A.D for the Dissolution of Unity State Youth Union’s Executive Board and shall come into force on the date of its signature by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports”,the order reads.
“.. In exercise of the powers vested in me under article 110 (1) (b) of Unity State Transitional Constitution 2011 A.D, I, David Gai Jiejor Ngueny Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports do hereby issue this ministerial order for the dissolution of Unity State Youth Union’s Executive Board with immediate effect from the 23rd of March 2022 A.D”,the order said.
Unity State Youth organised the first Youth convention on 18th of March 2022 in Unity State capital Bentiu where they elected for the first time the female chairperson Ms. Nyadin Lual Gai becoming the first female ever elected as the youth leader in Unity State and South Sudan in general.
