March 28, 2021(Nyamilepedia) — Unity State’s newly established government under the leadership of Governor Joseph Nguen Manytuel and Deputy Governor Tor Tungwar Kueiguong has toured several counties to sensitize the population and to address critical issues affecting the people in various counties.
According to DG’s Press Secretary, Puot Tap Riak, the leadership has visited Mayiandit, Koch, Leer and Guit counties.
“The government of Unity State have [has] visited the following counties which are mentioned above, the delegation was led by governor Hon: Joseph Nguen and deputy Governor, Hon: Tor Tungwar Kueiguong.” Mr. Tap said.
Tapp explained that Governor Manytuel addressed the issue of flood in Mayiandit and Leer counties, saying the government will take immediate actions to rescue the stranded populations.
“In Mayiandit County, the Governor Joseph Nguen have addressed the issue of flood water that have taken vast part of the land and how the state government is going to work hand in hand together with the county government he also addressed the flood water issue in Leer county, he said that the state government will take immediate action in resolving the problems that is affecting our people’s lives.” Tap expalined.
According to Tap, the deputy governor addressed the populations in Leer county and called on the residents to observe the peace agreement.Â
“In Leer county, deputy Governor and chairperson of SPLM-IO party in the state, Hon: Tungwar have told people of Leer county to honor the peace agreement which was signed by President Salva Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, he also warning the criminals who execute illegal and illegitimate activities such as cattle raiding, raping of women, girls and illegal checkpoints which are illegally operated by criminals in both road routes and River routes.” Tap added.
In Koch, the leaders further mobilized the citizens to be ambassadors of peace within the county, and between Koch and neighboring counties.
“Hon: Tungwar highly appreciated the people of Koch county for the glorious reception that they gave to their state government, he told the people of Koch to be the guiding star that spread the peace among the neighboring counties but, above all, spread the peace among themselves and give up the notion of killing innocent people and refocus on building a new society, a society which is build base on democratic values and principles so that we can be able to catch up with the rest of the developing countries, he continue to urge young people to be the ambassadors of peace and unity in our state.” Tap said.
He further reiterated that the deputy governor told the youth of Guit county to use their education for the betterment of the county and the state.
Mr. Tungwar highly encouraged the youth to cease the culture of barbaric killings and challenged them to work hard to rebuild their county.
