May 4th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Ugandan President on Thursday has urged the SPLM factions meeting in Juba for reunification to drop violence, unite and leave the use of force for the “enemy” and not for “brothers”. Museveni made these remarks during the 4th SPLM National Convention called upon by president Salva Kiir in Juba which aim to partially implement the Arusha reunification accord signed by Kiir’s SPLM faction, Machar’s SPLM-IO and the former detainees (FDs).
“My appeal to the leaders of the SPLM is to drop violence as a means of conflict resolution. Force should be reserved for the enemy. A disagreement among brothers should not be resolved through force,” he said.
The two day convention, which seek to reunite the deeply divided party based on the Arusha agreement, is being held in the nation’s capital Juba in absence of two of its main signatories. Machar is SPLM-IO and the SPLM-FDs under the leadership of the party’s secretary general Pagan Amum are not in attendance.
Museveni said South Sudanese leaders should only use dialogue and work towards preparing national elections accusing some people he did not mentioned of waging war due to allegations that Kiir is being controlled by foreign leaders.
“Whatever the political differences, South Sudan leaders should embrace dialogue and work towards having national elections,” he said.
“Some people have been coming to Uganda. They say they want to start a war because Salva Kiir is being controlled by some elders,” he added wondering whether this should also be a cause for the war.
Museveni urged the use of elections to solves differences and mismanagement.
“If there is mismanagement, work for peace then prepare for elections. You then resolve everything through the vote. Use the ballot to punish those who have misbehaved,” he said.

Good point Mr. president, know that making such a good remark will make all the difference rather than trying to get involve forcefully. May be you have already understood that forceful means is not a viable solution. Yes, I heard the same story of foreign influence however, that should not be the base of violence and I understand that it is a frustration of this crisis. You just doing your part to keep your relationship intact with the head of state like yourself. What else should you do if that happen to be a difference leader should do it likewise and it is a political deal. Yes, I see your point at last urging them to unify and that is a good signal. If you keep advocating in that direction eventually you will get all sides listening to you.
It is sad to see a leader like South Sudan in 21st century. The end result of a Jungle leader is a failed state. This kind of condition in South Sudan is a good opportunity for the enemy of the African people like Egypt. It is the right for the South Sudanese people to stand for their prosperity and freedom. Stop sacrify your nation for the sake of one person or a group people. It is very late for South Sudan president to learn about leadership and its action oriented application.
Don’t loss a single month for this selfish person. He has been using the position of the president to grab money and power. I am not sure wheather he knews the God of Israel or not? If so he will leave including his power for the sake of his people. We have learned this love from Jesus. Show us in practice. God please remember the cry of your people, South Sudan. Amen!
