Ugandan President Arrives in Khartoum

June 24th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni arrived in the Sudanese capital Khartoum on Monday afternoon where he is expected to engage, with President Bashir, Salva Kiir and South Sudan opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon.

Sources said the Ugandan leader whose country intervened in the ongoing South Sudan conflict on the side of Kiir held talks with the Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir along side the South Sudan incumbent, Salva Kiir Mayardiit.

“President Museveni is here and he has held talks with President Omar Al-Bashir and Kiir was in their meeting as well,” the source said.

Nyamilepedia also understand that the Ugandan leader also met and held talks separately with the South Sudan leader of the armed opposition group, the SPLM-IO Dr. Riek Machar Teny.

Kiir and Machar expected to meet this afternoon in an efforts recommended by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development to try to end the conflict in South Sudan which has been marred in a bloody civil war which has been going on since December 2013.
