The U.S Embassy says it is very concerned about the ongoing development in Sudan which it believes might jeopardize the civilian rule in the country.

“The U.S. embassy is gravely concerned by reports that the armed forces have taken action against Sudan’s civilian government, and condemns actions that are undermining Sudan’s democratic transition”, the U.S Embassy stated in their official page.

In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, the U.S Embassy is afraid that the progressing military coup might hinder the objectives of the Sudanese revolution and as such its goals will hardly be attained.

The Embassy calls on the coup plotters to renounce their move and allow the civilian-led transitional government to organize the democratic transition that will reflect the aspiration of the Sudanese people in conjunction with the goals of their revolution that ousted the autocratic ruler, President Omer Ahmed El-Bahir in April 2019.

“We call on all actors who are disrupting Sudan’s transition to stand down, and allow the civilian-led transitional government to continue its important work to achieve the goals of the revolution” ,the statement of U.S Embassy added.

Two days ago, the U.S Embassy in Khartoum announced that it would stand with the peaceful demonstrators in their fight for full restoration of the civilian-led government in Sudan and encouraged Sudanese people to use non-violent during demonstrations.
