July 18th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Fighting between members of South Sudan’s National Security Service (NSS) and the police in Tonj state have left four people including two police officers dead, several sources told the Nyamilepedia on Thursday afternoon.

The fighting is between national security forces and the police in Tonj. Four people have been killed. Two of them are civilians and the other two are police officers. Three members of the national security have been wounded,” one source said.

Another source said that “the situation until this morning is normal and people have returned to their duties but I don’t actually know what was the cause of the fighting.”

The same source said that he is aware that an investigation by the authorities is underway but said he would not have further comment on the matter given the sensitivity of the matter.
