April 27th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Two bodyguards belonging to the country’s Vice President James Wani Igga have been killed last Wednesday by an unknown gunmen near the nation’s capital Juba while on return from Lobonok Payam of the country’s central Equatoria state.

He said the two were in Lobonok Payam for a family visit when they came to meet their last fate during their trip back to the national capital.

“The two comrades went to visit their families. They were there for about a month when and while they were on their way to the nation’s capital Juba, they met their fate. That is very unfortunate,” the source said adding that the three were returned to the Lobonok Payam for burial as it is their home village.

The incident whose perpetrators remain unclear came barely two weeks after government forces clashed with the South Sudanese rebels under the leadership of the country’s former First Vice President Riek Machar in Luri near Juba causing panic among Juba residents.

Ten of thousands of people have been killed and almost half of the countr’s 12 million population has been displaced some of whom to the hneighboring countries and others living in refugee camps under the protection of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan.
