February 7th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) –Â A tribal head chief in South Sudan’s Upper Nile State was killed last month as result of a revenge attack by one of the feuding clans, senior opposition official told the Nyamilepedia on Thursday.
Dr. Duol Tut Gor, SPLM-IO deputy governor for Sobat state further said the incident happened last month in Jioka village near Ulang town.
“Head chief Banak Koang Kulang was Killed by a person called Lew Tut Yat on 26/01/19 at Jioka village around Ulang town,” he said.
The opposition official further added that the revenge was carried out by the killer “after his brother was killed last year by a member of the clan of the slaim head chief.”
Tribal fighting and revenge attacks has been on of a contributing factor to South Sudan’s instability since the country again d it’s independence from Sudan in July 2011.
