The children, who were identified as Nyazola Ruot Gai, 13, Chieng Ruot Gai, 10, and Goar Ruot Gai, 7, disappeared from an apartment at around 1pm on Thursday, September 10, 2020.

Speaking to the media, their mother Veronica John, said she came to learn about her children’s mysterious disappearance when her little son came to her and tried to tell her something she couldn’t understand, and when she checked them out in their room, she found out that they were not there.

“Yesterday, my three children, Nyazoli, Chieng and Goar went missing here in Ain Shams. My youngest son who is learning to speak came to me in my room and told me something which I couldn’t understand at the time. When I got to see them in their room, I found out that they left the apartment,” The mother, Veronica John said.

“It was around 1:00 pm when they disappeared. We went to ask the neighbors next down and no one could tell if they saw them” She continued.

Veronica has since been helplessly looking for help to track down her children but no help has came to sight so far.

She has stormed the local police station in Ain Shams to register the case and ask for leads but she has been turned down and told to come back a few times.

“We went to the Ain Shams police department to report the case a few hours after they went missing on Thursday. When we arrived there, we were told to come back on Friday after prayers. This afternoon, we returned there and we were told to come back because the person responsible for the CID unit was not in his office,” Veronica said.

Veronica has called the South Sudan embassy and the UNHCR to report the case as well but she had no luck as the UNHCR phones were neither picked nor returned, and the embassy had no promising response either.

“We have also spoken to the embassy about this but nothing has yet been done. I am registered as a refugee and I am trying to contact the UNHCR in Cairo about the kids but no one from them has responded to my phone call,” She added.

Many family members and friends have announced on social media and left their contacts for anyone who may have information to help but so far no positive response has been received.

The siblings attended schools at Sobat Modern Educational Center, and their family and friends can be reached through these numbers: +201111863578/+201123074984
