The SPLM/A-IO splitter group names Machar’s Deputy Chairman as head of their political wing.

In a statement extended to Nyamilepedia, Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual who unilaterally declared himself on August 3rd, 2021 as the leader of the main opposition group, appointed Machar’s former Deputy Chairman Henry Odwar as the head of political wing of the Magenis based SPLM/A-IO.

“The SPLA-IO Supreme Military Council after the Kitgwang Declaration, I, the interim Chairman and Commander_In_Chief(C-in-C) Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual, based on the powers vested upon me by the SPLA_IO Military Council, do Hereby ppoints Henry Odwar as the head of the council of the Political Bureau (CPB)” Gen. Simon Gatwech declared. 

The former Chief of General Staff of the SPLA-IO calls on all politicians to report themselves to Magenis where the senior members are expected to hold a convention to reorganize the SPLM/A-IO.

” All former Political Bureau (PB) and the National Liberation Council(NLC) members to report themselves to the new SPLM-IO Head of the council of political bureau (CPB) until political reorganization within the movement is completed”,Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual ordered in a statement.
