November 13, 2019(Nyamilepedia) — In a statement posted to his official Facebook page, followed by over 3.5 million people, Joshua revealed he had been sent by God “to pray for South Sudan and lead the nation to a new beginning” and relied on ‘God’s instruction’ throughout his journey.
“I received an instruction from God to leave immediately – without waiting for any ‘thank you’ whatsoever, whether in cash or kind,” he explained, strongly countering rumours on social media that the cleric had been ‘paid’ by South Sudan’s government for his prophetic prayers.
Joshua acknowledged that many South Sudanese expected him to stay longer but insisted he had to “obey the voice of God”.
He concluded that there was “need for a revival crusade” in South Sudan. “As such, I await divine directions for another visit soon, for the harvest is on the way!”
According to reports from local media, Joshua left Juba International Airport at 10:30pm, an uncharacteristic hour of the night, fuelling speculation as to the circumstances of his sudden departure.
During his historic visit, he led the nation in prayer for peace and called on South Sudanese leaders to overcome their divisions and work together “for the good of the country”.
