August 28th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Sudan’s newly appointed prime minister Dr. Abdallah Hamdok has delayed the formation of his government to give time for further consultations within the protest group Forces for Freedom and Change (FFC), the Nyamilepedia has learned.

On Monday, the FFC submitted over 70 nominees to various government ministries and institutions. Dr. Hamdok was expected to form his government not later than today as per the constitutional document signed early this month.

A military source said from Khartoum this afternoon that the FFC didn’t share the list of the nominees with the Sovereignty Council as required by the constitutional declaration signed by the opposition group and the military.

They were supposed to consult the military on the list of nominees but they directly submitted the list to the prime minister which is contrary to what we have agreed upon in the constitutional document,” the military source said from the Sudanese capital Khartoum.

On this basis, the formation of the transitional government has been delayed and the prime minister will soon disclose when the government will be formed,” the source added.
