August 6th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Sudan’s armed opposition umbrella, the Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF), has rejected the constitutional declaration signed by the ruling military junta and protest organizers last week.

Under IGAD and AU mediation, Sudan’s Transitional Military Council (TMC) and the Freedom Forces for Change (FFC) signed an agreement last week paving way for establishment of a 39-month transitional period.

In a statement on Monday, the leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement/Arm (SLM/A-MM), a member of the SRF, Mini Minawi, said the agreement by the military and the internal opposition does not address Sudan’s future status between the government and armed opposition.

“The Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF) presented a project to break Sudan’s historical structural imbalance to establish peace, but it has been disappointed,” Minni Manawi said.

Other leaders of the SRF have also voiced their rejected to the deal that ended a months old standoff between the military which took over the government from ex-president Omar al-Bashir and protesters who have been demanding for a civilian government.
