Oct 3, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — The Sudanese peace agreement which was to be signed at 10:30am this morning in South Sudan capital, Juba, has been delayed by a light rain that frustrated earlier efforts to begin the events on time.

According to the South Sudanese officials, who are organizing the events, the signing ceremony will not be postponded due to the rains.

Many Sudanese leaders and leaders from the region with exception of Ugandan president, Yoweri Museveni, have gathered at a well-decorated Dr. John Garang ground for the signing of the Sudanese peace agreement.

“H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit received a number of head of states from the regional countries upon arrival at Juba International Airport for the occasion of the final signing of the Sudan Peace Agreement in Juba today, Saturday the 3rd of October.” Said South Sudan president’s press unit.

President Salva Kiir recieved the head of Sudan’s sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and other officials to sign the Comprehensive peace that may transform the Sudan north and improve bilateral relations between the two countries.

Brieing the media, President Kiir’s spokesman, Ateny Wek Ateny, confirmed that the head of states that were received by President Salva Kiir today include the President of Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Sahle-Work Zewde, President of the Republic of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh and President of the Republic of Chad, Idriss Déby Itno.

President Salva Kiir will initiate the signing of the final peace agreement between the Transitional Government of Sudan and the Sudanese Revolutionary Movements any time from the time of this writing.

According to the Sudanese President, Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the signing of the peace agreement will unlock four major Freedoms that are enshrined in the cooperation agreement of 2012 effective immediately from the time of signing.

The Sudanese leader, Al-Burhan, is expected to announce the decision to unlock these four freedoms for the southerners during his speech at the signing ceremony of the peace agreement in Juba today.

“The President of Sovereign Council has already directed all government agencies that dealing with South Sudanese must be in line with the Four Freedoms enshrined in the cooperation agreement of 2012 from Saturday,” a government official in Khartoum

The four Freedom will include freedom of residence, freedom of movement, freedom to undertake economic activity and freedom to acquire and dispose property.

Although these freedoms were signed eight years ago by leaders of both countries, the Sudanese authorities did not implement them in letter and spirit something that may now improve.
