Nov 09, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — A Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF) delegation flew to the United Arabs emirates to discuss the contribution and the role of UAE in the implementation of Sudan’s peace agreement.
The delegation included Hadi Idris, the SRF leader, Justice and Equality Movement leader, Jibril Ibrahim, the Chairman of the Sudanese Alliance, Khamis Abakar, the head of Kush Movement, Mohamed Daoud, the Mediator Tut Gatluak, and some other South Sudanese officials.
The SRF leader said that the delegation went there to thank UAE for its contribution towards the peace process.
“We came to the UAE to thank its leadership for the effort and contribution they made to ensure the success of the peace process and to discuss the role that their country could play in the future as a guarantor of the agreement,” the SRF leader, Hadi Idris, said in statements shortly after their arrival in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
The delegation will be joined by two other SRF leaders, Osama Saeed and Khaled Jaoish, who are already in the UAE.
They said the Arab United Emirates (UAE) has always shown its support in the Sudan peace process.
UAE is one of the guarantors of the Juba peace agreement reached after a year of arduous negotiations mediated by the South Sudanese government.Â
Sudan’s transitional government and several rebel groups have signed the peace agreement aimed at resolving years of war on October 3rd in Juba.
The agreement was aimed at ending years of war and restoring peace in the country that has just overthrown its previous government. The SRF leaders are expected in Khartoum on 15 November.Â
Also, Minni Minnawi of the Sudan Liberation Movement has announced his arrival to Khartoum on the same date.
