Hamdan who doubles as the Deputy Head of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council said he is given a bad name to soil his reputation despite his pivotal roles in the December Revolution that culminated in the ouster of the long term despot Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir.

This comes after the Supreme Peace Council recently removed him and appointed Chems al-Din Kabbashi as the head of the government negotiating delegation for the peace talks with the SPLM-N of Abdel Haziz Adam Al-Hilu.

He said he was the only person who rejected the ideas and attempts made by former Islamic elements to continue maintaining the status quo in Sudan at the expense of citizens.

Hemetti claims that he was the reason for the political developments that happened in Sudan because he supported and stood with the civil population during the uprising that toppled Bashir.

“Without us, Bashir would have been in power. We arrested him and put him under house arrest”, Hamdan said during the memorial service of The Sudan Liberation Movement.

According to details viewed by Nyamilepedia, Hemetti expressed his frustration and anger to an unidentified circle of factionalists, whom he said praised him during the revolution but now sees him as an enemy and reached the point of questioning his national identity and military rank.

“They believe that leadership positions should be restricted to certain parties and certain people,” Hamdan explained. “They were meeting together to break up the sit-in. I was the cause (of the change) and supported the people, but now I have become an enemy of the people.”, he lamented.

He admitted that his forces were used by former Islamic officers to commit crimes without knowledge of their leadership. He argued that he wasn’t outside Khartoum to attack but to protect the Sudanese people.

Hamdan is the head of a militia group known as  Rapid Support Force, his militia group has been accused several times of a number of crimes such as rape, looting, and killings of innocent civilians especially peaceful protestors.
