August 3rd 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The Sudanese Foreign Minister Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed who is also the chief mediator for the ongoing South Sudanese talks in the Sudanese capital Khartoum is in Juba, the South Sudanese capital, for a meeting with the South Sudanese president, Salva Kiir ahead of the signing ceremony of the peace agreement which is scheduled for 5th August.
The Sudanese Minister, sources told the Nyamilepedia, visit the capital to try to pursue president Salva Kiir on some of the issues, the parties, especially the South Sudan Opposition Alliance and the SPLM-FDs are skeptical on solving them after the return to the capital Juba.
“The foreign minister is in Juba, he arrived around 10 in the morning to meet President Salva Kiir and to discuss with him the pending issues which are yer to be agreed upon by the parties especially the South Sudan ,Opposition Alliance and the SPLM-FDs,” one source told the Nyamilepedia.
Another source said the foreign minister was sent by the Sudanese president so as to convince Kiir to try to find a compromise over the number of the states before the implementation of the would-be peace agreement could begin.
“Al-Dirdiri was sent by the Sudanese president Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir to convince President Kiir to find a compromise for the remaining issued before the peace agreement which is going to be signed in Khartoum on Sunday could be implemented,” the other source told the Nyamilepedia.
