Sudan, South Sudan to allow citizens obtain visa on arrival

August 5th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan government and its Sudanese counterpart have agreed on Monday to allow citizens to obtain visa upon arrival.

This was agreed upon during a ceremony held in Juba at the premise of South Sudan’s Ministry of Interior.

The agreement was signed by South Sudan police chief, General Majak Akech and Director General of Sudan Police Forces General Adel Mohamed Ahmed

The two police chiefs also agreed to exchange of security information on the organized and transnational crimes, capacity building, training, cooperation and border management and joint security investigation, strengthen surveillance patrol at the borders, control illegal movement of people at the existing border crossing points, monitoring teams, sharing and transfer of experience, coordination and enhancing the provision of logistical support as much as possible.

Speaking following the signing of the memorandum of understanding, General Akech said the agreement will double up cooperation between the two countries and will strengthen ties.

“This is the beginning and good gesture between South Sudan police and Sudan police force,” Akech said.

“For us, we are very delighted and privileged to have you and it will be long lasting relationships that will actually path way for other generations to come,” Akech added.

For his part, the Director General of Sudan Police Force General Adel Mohamed Ahmed expressed his appreciation on the cooperation OK n between the two institution.
