Sudan imposes dawn-to-dust curfew to contain coronavirus

March 23, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) — The Sudanese government has imposed a dawn-to-dust curfew as concerns over the coronavirus outbreak escalates, the Transitional Sovereign Council said.

Sudan has two confirmed cases of coronavirus after a third died. The government had announced measures like closing down universities, school and public gatherings.

In a statement, a health committee established the coalition government said it had decided to impose curfew – from 08:00PM to 06:00AM – to contain the spread of the virus. That curfew, according to the statement will commence on Tuesday.

“The Supreme Committee for Health Emergencies of the Security and Defense Council decided to prohibit roaming in all cities of the country from eight o’clock in the evening until six in the morning the following day, as of tomorrow, Tuesday 24 March 2020,” the statement seen by Nyamilepedia said.
