Khartoum, Sudan.
September 21,2021—The Transitional Government of the Republic of Sudan said they have foiled the attempted coup and arrested the elements believed to have connection with the coup.
The coup plotters are rumored to be supporters of the ousted president, Omer Hassan Ahmed El-Bahir, who was deposed three years ago through popular uprising.
The authorities in Sudan reported that they have arrested at least 40 officers who have involved in the coup.
The Office Manager at the Sudan’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ayman Tayeb told Nyamilepedia that, the coup engineers are the same elements of National Congress Party (NCP) loyal to the former president Omer El Bashir.
” Those who attempted coup are the same members of NCP allied to the former dictator but Sudanese population is very wise and they made it clear that they will not be ruled by NCP led regime”, Tayeb told Nyamilepedia from Sudanese capital Khartoum.
Tayeb confirmed that the situation is now normal and the investigation of the suspects is now underway.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, the Sudanese state media reports that an attempted coup in Sudan failed but the government managed to bring the situation under control.
“There has been a failed coup attempt in Sudan failed early on Tuesday, people should confront it”, state media reported.
Muhammed al-Faki Sulaiman, a member of the Sudanese Sovereign Council who doubles as an official spokesman of the council calls on Sudanese people to defend the country.
“Run to defend your country and protect the transition”, he wrote on Facebook page.
It is not the first time for the supporters of the former Sudanese long-ime ruler Omer al-Bashir to be accused of staging coups against the incumbent Transitional Government of Sudan. Last year they attempted to oust the Transitional government but went in vain.
